juegos con lecciones

Again, we started our lesson with a game. This time, Cati, our teacher made us throw think of a word that has an opposite meaning such as largo-corto, blanca-negra, bruto-intelligente, debil-fuerte (fuerte was thrown to me and i had no idea what weak was in Spanish) etc, etc. That made us think on our toes.

our formal lesson started with colors. like all words in spanish, colors are gender sensitive as well as very particular on either singular or plural.

masculino -------------- Femenino
el arroz blanco ------------- harina blanca
el limon amarillo ------------ ciruela amarilla
el naranja naranja ---------- naranja naranja (this is a neuter)
el aguacate verde ---------- peras verdes (so is this one)
huevos blancos ------------ leche blanca
tomate rojo ---------------- fresa roja

after break, we had another ice breaker.

"El barco se Hunde" the boat is about to sink and you group yourselves in 3's or 2's or 5's

Roderick was caught 3 times and as punishment he has to either sing, dance or recite a poem. He opted to dance. unfortunately, we had no music. I forgot that my cell phone has YMCA of the Village People. That would have been fun. Next Saturday will be his DDay.

Then we had exercises in Complemento Directo.

1. Senora, como le queda el vestido?
Me gusta mucho. Me lo llevo.

2. Pilar me quedan bien estos pantalones.
Estupendamente, por que no te los llevos?

3. Voy a hacer cafe, Como lo tomas?
Con leche por favor.

4. Me gusta mucho la casa de la calle.
Entonces, la vas a alquilar?

5. Mira este traje gris, te gusta?
Si, es muy elegante, me lo pruebo?

6. Senora, le quedan bien los zapatos?
Si, si me los llevos?

Pronombres etal

i just hope that when i post this, the spacing will not go awry.

expand our scope

Hola companeras.

Our teacher has a different approach. We always play during class which is fun. She always has her pelota which she throws to any of us then we have to answer. Makes us think on our feet because we cannot prepare answers. Especially for association (like) games.

Also, she introduced an ice-breakers in Spanish. I was telling my classmate from DepEd that we can use it for our workshops. Social, ice breaker en espanol. Sulit na ang bayad sa Instituto.

Can you invite your other classmates, friends and sisters to join this blog para mas masaya.

And Mulan, please continue with your online review of your lessons. It is most useful for me.

Gracias.

Mi clase en español (tercera reunión)

Hola! buenas noches!

I had another interesting spanish class. Thanks to our professor, Sr. Jorge!

Sr. Jorge es muy bueno.

Ahora, nuestra lección está sobre el siguiente:

1. El comportamiento de assesinos potenciales

Well, this is actually an assignment, we are given an article about this topic and we're asked to make 5 questions based on it. Then, we need to ask this questions to our assigned partner. This activity is done to practice our reflexive and reflexive-infinitive verb. This is kinda funny coz based on the article all of us might be a potential ... you know .. hehe. Of course, our professor told us not to take this seriously. Just be careful :)

Algunas de las preguntas son ..

Te cepillas los dientes, despues de cenarte?
Te pones crema en la cara, despues de dormirte?
Cuando te levantes, pones la cafetera?

*para, andes de, despues de + reflexivo-infinitivo verbo
means reflexive-infinitive verbs can be use after "para, andes de, despues de" but reflexive-infinitive verbs are not to be used in the beginning of a paragraph ...

2. Frequencia
siempre - always
todos los dias - everyday
cada dia - everyday
cada semana
de lunes a biernes
por semana
cada semana - every week
un ves al mes - once a month
nunca - never
jamez never
dos veces cada semana - twice a week
tres veces cada dia - thrice a day
de lunes a biernes - from monday to friday
a veces - sometimes
a menudo - often
normalmente - usually

3.Con que frequencia? (How often?)

Con que frequencia comer en un restaurante?
Un vez al mez, como un restaurante

Con que frequencia comprar un novela?
Nunca

Con que frequencia mirar el programa, FRIENDS?
Cada dia a la siete y media de la noche, miro el programa FRIENDS

4. Como quedamos?
para invitar

(what? when? where? why?)

Quedamos el sabado a las nueve de la mañana en Instito Cervantes de Manila para esturdiar en español.

We also had some exercise to help us increase our comprehension in spanish. The exercises are sort of like a personality test. It's really fun. Estoy allegre.

Adios!

6 degrees of connection

Mulan, you might not know it but you and Teng are classmates. Teng is a colleague of mine in the Department.

You two are quite lucky to have Jorge as a teacher. He is just super galing. I have a mind to change my sched and join you. That is, if charles allows me and if I make the effort this Saturday am.

Hasta el proximo sabado o hasta el proximo mensaje de blog.

Nievel 3

Hola! Me llamo beverley. Como estas?

hehe ...
ala lang ...
Last saturday, November 6, 2005. I had my first class on my spanish lesson for level 3. Oh! well! actually,it is the second day, however, i wasn't not able to attend the first class held on Oct. 29. Why? because I didn't have any sleep that day. and I need to go to work at 11pm. Fortunately for me, According to my new classmates that the class haven't really started. They were just give an outline, homework and was asked to introduce themselves in spanish. :)

I was so impressed with my new professor, se llama Sr. Jorge. He is great.REALLY! According to him, when we are in level one it is okay to say "Hablo español um pocito" ; level 2 " Hablo espanol um poco: pero en Nievel 3 it should be "Hablo español".I just wish he would help us develop our confidence in speaking spanish. I believe that's the most effective way for us to be able to speak fluently the language. I feel like a one year old struggling for the words. I guess that's why it is easier for the children to learn a foreign language. They are more comfortable in making mistakes as they learn and improve.

He has given us some homeworks about "un dia normal" (this is the assignment that was given last saturday) and next, we are given pictures of an everyday activity and we need to use the reflexive and reflexive-infinitive verb. Last, since the spanish language of Instituto will be standardized. We are given a sheet of paper with instruction for us to be able to take the sort of beta test online. I almost forgot we also need to come up with five questions in spanish about a certain topic. Oh! well so many things to do :) but it's okay i'm having a lot of fun.

Next time, i blog i'm gonna do my best to write in spanish :)

Hasta luego :)
